SKDM is a regulation that aims to offset the carbon footprint of products exported to the EU. With this mechanism, the EU provides a fair competition environment for producers within the EU by introducing a pricing system for imports of products with high carbon emissions. At the same time, it contributes to the achievement of environmental protection targets by encouraging carbon reduction at a global level.
